名词复数的不规则变化

1）child—childrenfoot—feettooth—teeth

mouse—miceman—menwoman—women

留意：与 man 和 woman组成的合成词，其复数形式也是 -men 和-women。

如： an Englishman，two Englishmen. 但German并不是合成词，故复数形式为Germans；Bowman是姓，其单数是the Bowmans。

2）单复同形　如：

deer，sheep，fish，Chinese，Japanese

li，jin，yuan，two li，three mu，four jin

但除RMB元、角、格外，美金、欧元、法郎等都是有复数形式。如:

a dollar, two dollars;a meter, two meters

3）集体名词，以奇数方式发生，但实则单数。

如： peoplepolicecattle 等自身便是单数，不能说 a people，a police，a cattle，但可以说

a person，a policeman，a head of cattle,the English，the British，the French，the Chinese，the Japanese，the Swiss 等专有名词，表明人民统称时，作单数用。

如： The Chinese are industries and brave.　中华人民是品格高尚的。

4）以s末尾，仍为奇数的专有名词，如：

a. maths，politics，physics等课程专有名词，为不可数名词，是奇数。

b. news 是不可数名词。

c. the United States，the United Nations 应视作奇数。

The United Nations was organized in 1945. 联合国组织是1945年建立起來的。

d. 以复数形式发生的小说名字，片名，报刊，杂志期刊名，也可视作奇数。

"The Arabian Nights" is a very interesting story-book.

<<一千零一夜是一本十分有趣的小故事书。

5) 表明由两一部分产生的物品，如：glasses (近视眼镜)trousers,clothes

若表述实际数量，要依靠数量词 pair(对，双);suit(套); a pair of glasses; two pairs of trousers

6） 此外也有一些专有名词，其复数形式有时候可表明尤其含意，如：goods货品，waters海域，fishes（各种各样）鱼
