2022年成考英语：名词所有格与of词组的相似和不同

学习英语中，很多人常见”的”来学习培训专有名词属格，这也同样是一种了解方法。可是我们知道，英语中，除开专有名词属格-’s表明“的”，of短语一样还可以。那麼，这两者有哪些差异点呢？

一、相同之处

1.表明全部关联：the body of the dog=the dog’s body

2.表明主谓关系：the arrival of my father=my father’s arrival

3.表明动宾关系：the defeat of the enemy=the enemy’s defeat

4.表明来源于：the law of Newton= the law developed by Newton

二、不同之处：

1.表明事情类型或特性，只有用专有名词属格：men’s shoes男士鞋

2.固定不动习语中，只有用专有名词属格：

a bird’s-eye view俯瞰 a wolf in sheep’s clothing披上绵羊皮的狼

a hair’s breadth间不容发 at a stone’s throw 一步之遥

3.含有较长修饰词的专有名词，只有用of短语：

the suggestions of the teachers given at the parents’ meeting

4.“the 修饰词”式的专有名词，只有用of短语：

the life of the poor穷光蛋的日常生活

正因如此，虽然专有名词属格和of-短语有很多关联性，在许多状况下，二者能够通用性，但两者相互之间仍具有着差别。大家必须在确立二者关联性的根基上，区别个性化，实际情境深入分析。
