stop doing/to do

stop to do　终止，终断做某件事完去做另一件事。

stop doing　停止做某事。

They stop to smoke a cigarette.　 她们慢下来，抽了一支烟。

I must stop smoking……我务必戒烟戒酒了。

回答：C.由句意得知，她到峰顶，慢下来在一个马路边的石头上歇息。因而，应挑选“stop to do sth. 慢下来去做另一件事”。而不单单是登山姿势的停止，因此stop doing sth.有误。

forget doing/to do

forget to do　忘掉要去做某件事。（未做）

forget doing　忘掉做了某件事。　（已做）

The light in the office is stil on. He forgot to turn it off.

公司办公室的灯仍在亮着，它忘掉关掉。（沒有做熄灯的姿势）

He forgot turning the light off.

他忘了他早已关了灯了。 （ 已做了熄灯的姿势）

Don‘t forget to come tomorrow.

别忘记明日来。（to come姿势未做）

回答：C.由the light is still on 得知灯亮着，即熄灯的行为沒有产生，因而用forget to do sth.

而forget doing sth表明灯早已合上了，而自身忘记了这一客观事实。这里不符句意。

remember doing/to do

remember to do 还记得去做某件事　（未做）

remember doing　还记得做了某件事　（已做）

Remember to go to the post office after school.

记着下课后去趟邮政局。

Don‘t you remember seeing the man before？

你没还记得之前见过那人吗？

regret doing/to do

regret to do　 对要做的事缺憾。（未做）

regret doing　 对做了的事缺憾、后悔莫及。（已做）

I regret to have to do this， but I have no choice.

我很遗憾务必那样去做，我确实没有办法。

I don’t regret telling her what I thought.

我不会为告知她我的想法而后悔莫及。

cease doing/to do

cease to do　 长期，乃至始终停做某件事。

cease doing　 短时间停止做某事，之后还会继续然后做。

That department has ceased to exist forever.

那一个单位已荡然无存。

The girls ceased chatting for a moment when their teacher passed by.

女孩们在教师踏过时，停了会闲聊。

try doing/to do

try to do勤奋，妄图做某件事。

try doing　 实验，尝试做某件事。

You must try to be more careful.

你可以要更加当心。

I tried gardening but didn‘t succeed.

我尝试种果树盆栽花卉，但未取得成功。

go on doing/to do

go on to do　干了一件过后，然后做另一件事。

go on doing　 再次做原先做的事。

After he had finished his maths，he went on to do his physics.

做完数学课后，他继续去做物理学。
